Thank you for being so understanding for following our hygiene protocol. Your cooperation and support in keeping everyone safe is greatly appreciated.
If you have an upcoming appointment with us be assured, it’s business as usual – All our practices are open. If you can’t attend because you are unwell, self-isolating or choosing to self-distance, we can offer you an online telehealth physiotherapy consultation. This will ensure your treatment plan remains on track.
In order to support you during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have lowered the cost of our online consultations. As virtual consultations, unfortunately, we would not be able to do hands on treatments for you. With our virtual consultation, we hope the below pricing will make looking after your health more accessible.
What can be achieved during an online telehealth physiotherapy consultation?
A virtual telehealth consultation with your physiotherapist can be just as beneficial as a face to face.
Below, we’ve answered our patients frequently asked questions to help provide more information about how online consultations work.
Can my physiotherapist conduct a proper assessment during an online telehealth physiotherapy consultation?
Yes. Our physiotherapists assess your presenting concern via two main types of assessment. One involves asking you questions relevant to diagnosing the cause of your issue. The other is a physical examination which may involve watching how you perform certain movements or tasks.
Both techniques can be done via telehealth – much of the information we gain from asking you questions gives us a very good understanding of what is contributing to your issue. From there, we can formulate your diagnosis and treatment plan.
Can my physiotherapist provide proper treatment with telehealth physiotherapy consultation?
Much of what physiotherapists provide in the way of treatment is advice and education, as well as a targeted rehabilitation/management program. This converts very well to an online setting. Hands-on or manual treatment with your physio is obviously not available.
However, there are many ways your therapist can teach you to self-treat to help provide symptom relief. This includes using equipments such as foam roller and massage ball, which we will demonstrate during the session. If you do not have access to some equipments, we are able to order the items for you, so that you can avoid purchasing the wrong product.
How can I learn the exercises or get the handouts required?
Just as we have been doing before this pandemic, we will be sending all exercises discussed during the session to your personal email. It will include pictures and clear instructions.
